2007 Annual Conference Report
News

Each spring a whole day Saturday conference is held. This has proved fundamental to the interest in, and devlopment of, the Association. Since 1975 conferences have been held in host schools in most geographical areas of the country. Venues cover all types of boarding and day schools. Locations are chosen to facilitate regional attendance, but it has been most reassuring that a number of representatives have travelled far and wide to achieve regular attendance. An annual dinner is held in the evening.

The Association's AGM is held on a weekday evening in November at a school in the Greater London area. The brief formal business is followed by an address by the Head, similar to that at a Conference and some input from an officer of the former pupils' socieity of the host school discussing the relationship with the school and special aspects of the Society's aims and objectives and administrative arrangements. As at Converence, ample opportunity is provided for informal conversation between participants, so imporant in the sharing of personal experiences.

The Committee of the Association meets at least five times a year to prepare for the Conference and AGM. It also responds to correspondence from officers and representatives of societies on a wide variety of topics, and arranges surveys providing information as identified in disucssions both formal and informal at conferences and AGMs.
