AROPS is open to representatives of all school alumni societies and provides a forum for the exchange of views and the sharing of experiences in running alumni organisations.

St Paul's School, Barnes, London - Thursday 7 June 2018

Twenty members joined us at St Paul’s School on the banks of the Thames for a lively discussion. It included guidance on the preferential Opt-Out ‘Legitimate Interest Assessment’ (LIA) pathway for retaining contact with more alumni in a Membership organisation under the Data Protection GDPR rules which had just come into force on 25th May 2018.

Debate also covered many other topics such as subscriptions, differing organisational structures in societies, engaging with recent leavers & alumni, social events, insurance, etc.

 St Paul's School Barnes - 18 January 2017

We were pleased to welcome 16 AROPS Representatives to St Paul’s School for the first London Regional Meeting of the year. Peter Jakobek, Chairman, welcomed the delegates and Tim Cunis introduced Professor Mark Bailey the High Master of St Paul’s welcomed us to the School.

Eton College - 15 June 2016

Representatives in West London attended a meeting sat the Old Etonian Association, Eton college. Fifteen members representing 10 different schools discussed such items as: societies within an alumni association; social media; retail products; events; London venues; and publicatons. The afternoon ended with a tour of Eton College Chapel and the Museum of Eton Life.

The London Region had a lively meeting at St Benedict’s in March where topics included the use of Cloud computing/virtual office systems; access to school databases; and updating memoranda and articles of association. Click here for the full report.



Haileybury, Hertfordshire on 8 September 2015

Haileybury were kind hosts of the London area meeting in September where representatives discussed such topics as the benefits of running sports events, merging and changing society names, the best use of social media and the advantages of using Mailchimp and Eventbrite. St Paul’s Boys School, Barnes on 25 February 2015

There was an impressive turnout at the London Region meeting at St Paul’s School, Barnes, this year and lively discussions on such topics as the best time to engage recent leavers; successful events for younger members; and suggestions for suitable venues for events in London. The London Region covers the centre of London and an area extending to the M25.


The inaugural meeting was held at Tiffin School in Kingston-upon-Thames in April 2013 where topics included:

·         Magazines

·         Recruiting to sports teams

·         Recruiting committee members
